Below is a list of many of the land and building gifts that the Finnup Foundation has funded throughout the years:
George W. Finnup YMCA Camp (1977) Frederick & Isabel Finnup gifted about 77 acres of land located south of Ingalls, KS to the YMCA to be used as an area for camping, boating, fishing, swimming and other recreation.
The Finnup Cottage at Rock Springs 4-H Ranch (1983) This cottage is located south of Junction City, KS and offers conference style housing for up to 80 people. Since it’s dedication many contributions have been made to the 4-H Foundation for improvements at the Rock Springs Ranch.
Salvation Army (1984) The Finnup Foundation gifted $300,000 to kick off a capital campaign to build the Salvation Army Corps Community and Service Center.
Finney County Public Library (1986) Since George Finnup had a heart for giving to libraries in southwest Kansas, the initial gift of $100,000 to establish a new library seemed a fitting contribution for the foundation. Voter’s approved a bond issue that would pay for half of the building and the foundation donated additional money to pay for the other half.
Garden City Community College - Finnup Computer Lab (1990) The Finnup Computer Lab has been used to provide seminars for local businesses and open-entry/open-exit computer courses. Finnup Music Lab (1993) The initial gift from the Finnup Foundation provided for 10 music learning stations, each with full-size 88-key piano keyboard, interfaced with a computer, and headphones. The system includes specialized music software that allows students to compose, transpose, arrange and record music.
Finney County Historical Museum (1994) Improvements and additions to the building were made.
The Finnup Center for Conservation Education at Finnup Park (1996) Having known of the younger Frederick's interest in conservation and education, and his father George's interest in furthering education, the Foundation was able to give the money accumulated in the Estate of Frederick for this building. Frederick was always concerned with preserving the natural resources through conservation and wise use. He kept in close contact with the farmers letting them know of new farming technology and current conservation practices on cropland as well as rangeland.
